Houston Press asks Doomstress Alexis some questions in their artist series: "If I Were Famous".

"We're Just People" - Doomstress Alexis w/photographer Gary Watson

Dear Lt. Governor-"We're Just People"

A photographic essay documenting daily life of the Doomstress herself produced and directed by photographer Gary Watson.

"Watson shot many of the images on a Leica camera that predates the Second World War, and it lends a playful banality to everything he captures in his images." -Jef Rouner@Houston Press

"The exhibit consists of 19 black-and-white silver-gelatin prints of Houston transwoman [Doomstress] Alexis, taken over the course of several months, and each photograph has accompanying text pulled from an interview the artist did with the subject. The photos and captions tell Hollada’s story in her own words" -B. Root@Outsmart Magazine

"I hope people will walk away with a better understanding of who transgender people are and that we aren’t any different from everyone else. We have dreams and goals; we too are career and artistically driven individuals who are just trying to survive and contribute to the world around us."  -Equality Texas
